Gingerbread Houses

If they made gingerbread houses for every holiday, these girls would be in heaven! Firstly, they were so good getting the houses at Target. They were out of our "bus carts" as I call them. It's a cart that both girls get a seat on an extra seat attachment and Luca gets the cart. They both actually walked the whole time and they were AMAZING! Probably the best behaved 2 year olds in the whole store. Once we got all the candy in the bowls they couldn't wait to decorate. We definitely had to be reminded that we needed to use the candy to decorate and not eat it all, but what fun would that be if they couldn't have any? They were very very focused while they were decorating and did a pretty good job of keeping most of the candy on the counter. I think they turned out great for their first ones.  In the words of Magda, "My house is beautiful."

Today we visited the Wonderland Express at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. The girls loved the railroad garden during the warmer months and it was no surprise they went crazy over the indoor one...especially when you add in Christmas Trees and lights! There was an area where it was "snowing" inside and they wouldn't leave until they caught one on their hand. They really wanted to see the lights ON but they don't come on until later on in the evening. So we may just have to skip nap or go down very early so we can go and see the lights.

Our First Tricycles!

I got the girls their first tricycles for their birthdays and they loved them! There were a lot of "oh wow's" when they were opening them. That night they were put together and they couldn't get off. They are a lot better at going backwards then forwards, but at least they both grasped the whole pedal concept. The next day while Luca napped we were outside all morning. Magda really got the hang of it then and went at least 10 feet FORWARD! Clara was quite content with Magda or myself pushing her along, but she quickly went a couple feet also.

Make a Messterpiece

Make a Messterpiece is a children's art studio in Glenview. The girls favorite part was the "bubbleology" area. The studio adds paint to bubbles and when they pop on your paper, the color shows up. At first, the girls just wanted to chase the bubbles but once they realized the colors showing up on their paper, they loved it! Luckily, it was as messy as the name of the studio implies. :)

Rollercoaster Fun With Michael

Magda and Clara enjoyed a day at the Chicago Children's Museum. They had a special guest with them on the trip. Jen's brother, Michael, was in on leave from the army and joined us on our outing. The girls took a liking to him, especially Magda. All of a sudden she couldn't walk, or feed herself and that Michael was a big softy and give in to her every time. She definitely had him wrapped around her finger. They loved the water works area to most...I'm sure that's because they can make a big mess!
